Scheldes Grille in Spirits Traverse City

The only reason there is one star is the bread and my daughter liked her mini cheeseburger. The food was not even warm it was so bad we couldn't eat it. 62 dollars for a mini cheeseburger. We will never eat there again.

I eat at Scheldes about twice a month and have never experienced any "additional charges" or bad service. I love the all you can eat Cheddar broccoli soup paired with the salad bar for only $8.99.I'm not sure if it is just tourist season when things get bumpy but I personally LOVE this place.

Visited this place a few years ago. .I would have been a regular if I lived in TC! Stopped in for a few beers but had already eaten dinner. Came back the next evening and the bartender remembered what we were drinking from the night before, and let us change alter the menu choices to our liking. Too bad, looks like it went out of business while crapholes like Little Bohemia are still open in Traverse City....

The exterior and sidewalk leading up to the front door definitely needs to be updated and repaired. Once we got inside although the inside could be updated as well, we were pleasantly surprised to have eaten one of the best prime rib steaks we've ever had! The bartender Spencer was very friendly and gave us excellent service. We loved it so much that we went back two days over this past weekend, this was their first time in the Traverse City area and we will definitely return.

Good food just ordinary atmosphere

Slow service ...food was just ok for the price ..very dangerous handicap sidewalk for handicappers....broken concrete...terrible patch job.......closed

We are here on vacation and this is the best meal we have had in traverse city. It reminds you of a family diner that servers alcohol. We had the steak and shrimp. Ashley is a great waitress and seems like a very genuine person. Thanks

Had soup and sandwich, club with broccoli cheddar, was great, water had a funky after taste. Service was very good and the setting is nice.

Came up to TC to get away for a few days from downstate and figured we would come and try here. We were greated promptly and the place was very clean which was a plus. Our waitress was really weird in a not friendly way and not very attentive; didn't even fill our waters. The food however, was the worst food I've ever eaten at a restaurant. I got the broasted chicken and mashed potatoes. 11.99 for 3 pieces of chicken and a small portion of mashed potatoes that had a crusted over gravy. The chicken had absolutely no flavor. My friend got chicken tenders, and yes 11.99 for that too. They looked like something a jail would serve. The $4.00 salad/soup bar was probably the best part. Can't really mess up a salad you build youreself. Overall spent $33 on flavorless small portions that is completely overpriced. Not impressed.

Laid back casual atmosphere and a French onion soup that is amazing.

Great atmosphere, great service and awesome food. Bit pricey, but I would definitely, go again and you should too.

Food was gross. They don't have to do anything right because of the high traffic count. Must be nice.

Horrible! Stay away!!! Our family party of 18 asked for a table on a Monday night and the host boy at the front went to check for us. The restaurant was barely half full, not busy at all, and he came back and told us it would be 60-90 minutes. Yes there could be a hundred different reasons for the wait but the kid could give a rip and his attitude was that he didnt want to lift a finger and wanted us to get lost. We left and went to Mabels down the road who got us in immediately. Mabels was terrific all around.

Just all around boring. The menu is basic and boring, the food is basic and boring. The only beers on tap are from the big three or big regional breweries; completely ignoring any local flavors.

Very bad service. Bill came to 64 dollars. Our waitress came running out after us. Said we didnt leave her enough money. We left 72. Dollars. Showed her our receipt 63.58. She did not even apologize. Said she would have to check it out.

We came with a party of 12 and every person's meal was absolutely delicious. Our waiter was above and beyond making our meal perfect. I highly recommend to family's and we will most definitely be back!

Only thing good is the bread. Waited 15 minutes for a table when there were plenty of tables available. Staffing was slow and food was not good except for the bread!

Prices shown on-line less than prices at restaurant - by $.50 - $1.50 - depending on the item. For a CUP of soup and 1/2 order of potato skins plus a soda it cost $12.50 - WHAT? Soup was excellent, potato skins ok. Waitress fine. Restaurant temperature COLD - and it was 10 degrees outside.

YUKY! Sheldes is OLD, DIRTY, OUTDATED! DIFFERENTLY NEEDS MAJOR UPDATING! Would not recommend

We were seated immediately when we walked in. Good. We got appetizers quick, and food was out in about 10 minutes. Very good food. Will go back.

Everything was Ok, but nothing spectacular. It's one of the few brunch buffet places around and for $12 it's pretty good.

Waitress had as many as 7 tables and was not too timely or attentive.Ordered the artichoke and crab (lol) that seemed to breakdown and was over heated.My wife ordered Chicken Piccata and was fine but I ordered the meatloaf with gravy on the side and when brought to table the meatloaf was two thin slices breaking up , mashed was cold and gravy was cold and gritty not from scratch.Should of ordered the broasted chicken.....

We stopped in on a whim. We were in TC for the weekend and wanted a late lunch. Absolutely everything was delicious. Our table had the BBQ pulled pork, the beef au jus hoagie, and a chipotle chicken wrap. The waffle fries and sweet potato fries were amazing. The homemade chips were delicious. Four of us were able to eat here for under $60 with two alcohol drinks on the tab. We were very happy and will definitely go back when we're in the area.

Shelde's was very clean. The menu selection and pricing was reasonable. The staff was welcoming! It was a great choice!

The food here is great. Unfortunately the service can be very slow and they have had people waiting to be sat with several tables open. Overall worth it though.

When I walked in, I had to wait quite a while before I was seated. There was a waitress at the counter by the front door who walked within 2 feet of me without even saying hi. I also made eye contact with other wait staff in the dining room that just continued on with mundane tasks. A we will be with you in a few minutes would have been nice and I probably wouldn't have even commented on this. The hostess finally showed up with just a hi and then sat me at a wet table. The waitress was nice, but didn't know how much the wine was. I am going to assume she was new and give her the benefit of doubt on not complain about her anymore. The salad they charge $2.25 should have been free. It was mostly lettuce. I expected a little bit more for the money. My entree was the chicken fried in a lemon caper sauce. It was good, but not great. The best part of the meal was the small loaf of fresh baked bread and butter. It was great. To end the experience, the bathroom was kind of gross.
